Friday 19 June 2026: Brain Chemistry (Cost R550.00)
What is Brain Chemistry?
Brain chemistry focuses on the working and effect of the main neurotransmitters/amino acids as drivers of specific chemicals in the brain. The focus will mainly be on Dopamin, Acetylcholine, GABA and Serotonin.
The brain chemicals focus on the behaviour, personality, character, attention and memory of a person. May there be any deficiencies within these chemicals the behaviour as well as brain functioning of the person will be affected.
The chemicals also indicate a specific chemical dominance "driving" specific behaviour of the person. The dominance of the chemical indicates specific characteristics ensuring that the person can be better understood within context of the behaviour.
Any deficiency may lead to attention, memory as well as personality dysfunctions such as memory loss, concentration problems, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, addictive behaviour, depression, anxiety and much more emotional problems. On the physical level problems are experienced with constipation, heart palpitations, digestive, eating disorders, sleeping disorder, weight management, circulation and other physical discomfort, etc.
Comparing the chemistry with an electrical bulb, focus will be on the voltage, speed, rhythm and waves in the brain providing the necessary energy to the body for zest for life and normal physical and emotional functioning. All these possible deficiencies may result in ADD and ADHD behavioural problems.
